This past July they highlighted a star athlete family member. He is well known, has the best trainer, and physical fit. Lebron James’ son, LeBron “Bronny” James Jr, had a cardiac arrest on the basketball court. How could this happen? Did he get the proper health screening, and physician’s checkup or did they assume he was healthy just because he is, Lebron James’ son.

This is an on going problem since the late 80s. There was a famous athlete that had a promising career, he had scouts after him daily. He fell out on the basketball court and died. The difference now, is that there is available treatments, preventative measures and the latest modern technologies.

Bronny James may recover and do very well because his father will make sure he receives the best of the best. But what about that kid from a rural area that only has Medicaid and the local hospitals don’t have CT scans, MRIs or a Neurologist that can read them.

Please parents don’t ignore the warnings signs, follow through with a specialist , or go to the nearest ER with all the available technology available to see what’s wrong with your child. Too many times we over look the small details, children complaining of a headache for a whole week, having sharp unusual pains around the front of their head, and saying that it feels like something is pulling at their brain. Don’t ignore it, please get it checked out. The worse that could happen is that it’s a false alarm ,and a large bill to pay. It’s better to check and find out it’s nothing than to let it go and it nearly kills your child or the unthinkable, they die on the court or on the football field.

A parent or guardian knows if the child is lying or desiring attention or if they are really sick. You be the judge, but please don’t let a child die at the hands of a coach that wouldn’t listen.

My coach didn’t listen and I collapsed and I sure wouldn’t wish that on anyone else’s child, they may not be as Blessed as myself. We gotta say something for these children before it’s too late.

This was another major scare with a healthy, talented athlete falling to the court and suffering a cardiac arrest it needs to stop.
